Pool opening and closing
At the beginning and end of the summer season it is helpful to have a professional look after your specific needs to ensure you can continue to enjoy a trouble-free and efficient pool for years to come.
Pool opening
In the springtime, we open your pool and get it ready for a long (hopefully!) and enjoyable season. We would carry out some or all of the following dependent on your own specific requirements: -
- Pool empty if required
- Power and acid wash pool floor and walls as appropriate
- Shock dose, clean and clarify if pool water is retained
- Remove and clean winter cover
- Power and acid wash copings and pool surround as required
- Clean all fittings
- Test all plant and fittings
- Service pool heater (recommended annually)
- Re fill as appropriate
- Dose and balance pool to safe standards
Each pool is different and treatments vary, so we would carry out a full assessment on the best way to get your pool ready for use and quote you as appropriate. Depending on the state of the pool in the spring, the whole process could be completed in days, or take two weeks or more.
Call us when you’re ready to start opening your pool on 01304 362223 and we’ll pop round to give you a quote and time estimate.
Pool closing
The way your pool has been closed has a direct bearing on the level of attention it will need the following season before it is ready for use. The more care taken in the autumn can save you time and money the following spring.
We would typically carry out the following when closing a pool in the autumn: -
- Ensure pool is in balance
- Remove and clean solar cover
- Drop level of pool to allow for rain water over winter
- Clear pipes susceptible to frost
- Close down and empty filter and pump
- Shock dose and add winterising chemicals to pool
- Attach winter debris cover
At our initial visit we would confirm a price dependent on each particular circumstance.
Regular maintenance
Many of our customers trust us to keep their pools clean, safe and inviting over the summer period for outdoor pools or year-long for indoor installations. Dependent on the type of pool, its location and amount of use, regular maintenance is carried out on a monthly, weekly or even more frequent basis – tailor-made for your individual circumstances.
Generally, our regular maintenance visit would include all or some of the following: -
- Check of all fittings and plant
- Backwash filter
- Clean out skimmers
- Clean solar cover
- Vacuum and brush pool as required
- Test pool water by photometer
- Dose as required to maintain safe and pleasant pool water
If you give us a quick call on 01304 362223, we’ll visit you without obligation and advise on the most appropriate maintenance programme for you and your pool’s needs.
